We begin our series looking at the very familiar parable of the prodigal son told by Jesus in Luke 15. While most refer to the parable by that title because they remember the prodigal's rebelliong, repentance and return, Jesus actually aimed the parable at the people most like the elder brother. Jesus says a man had two sons, and in pointing us to both of them he shows us our most fundamental problem in relationships: our alienation from the father.
